The Faculty of Pedagogy was established in 1998 as a higher education institution. However, in 1993, Presidium of BH issued a Decision to establish the Academy of Education producing elementary school teachers.
On July 9th, 1998, the parliament of the USC issued a Decision to transform the Academy into the Faculty of Pedagogy producing elementary school teachers, as well as the high school teachers.
Study model at the Faculty of Pedagogy is performed throughout three cycles: graduate, postgraduate and PhD. After the completion of the first cycles, a student gets a bachelor degree, Master degree after the completion of the second cycles and PhD degree is obtained after the completion of the third cycles.
The Faculty of Pedagogy embraced the challenges of the reform in higher education in BH and actively took place in creation of unanimous European education area.
Certainly, the new curricula are adapted to the Bologna declaration and European Credit Transfer System, enabling student mobility during the study, as well as the equivalence of diploma after completion.
Considering very professional staff, the Faculty of Pedagogy is one of the most perspective and respective among related faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
