WORKING MEETING IN THE RECTORATE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF BIHAĆ ON

Delegation of Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance, led by the Assistant Director of the Agency, Mr. Benjamin Muhamedbegović, held on March 5, 2010 a working meeting in the premises of the Rectorate of the University of Bihać with the coordinators for quality assurance from the organizational units of the integrated University of Bihaću. Prof. Refik Šahinović, acting Rector, expressed his satisfaction that he as a host together with his associates had the opportunity to take an active role in creation of the criteria for accreditation of higher education institutions in B&H through suggestions and proposals.
A set of standards and indicators that define an important area for the accreditation of higher education institutions in B&H were developed by these criteria in accordance with the Framework Law on Higher Education in B&H.

The following criteria are represented:

• official strategy of higher education institutions,
• quality policy,
• body for internal quality assurance,
• procedures for the development, adoption and analysis of study programs,
• procedures for assessing students' knowledge,
• minimum number of teaching staff,
• the procedure for selection of faculty,
• evaluation of teaching staff,
• evaluation of resources,
• access to student resources
• gathering and analysis of information.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture of the Government of USC is actively involved in the realization process of set objectives. The Agency’s representatives used this opportunity to remind attendees that the Agency is currently associated as a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance - ENQA. To have a full membership, which is its basic goal, appropriate conditions like these kinds of arrangements must be created. Reaching the set goals graduation, certificates of students from Bosnia and Herzegovina will be valid in all member states of ENQA. Finding the most appropriate methodology for finding out the high-quality solutions in the field of providing quality must contain in itself, as a very important element, consulting experience from the database. It is therefore important, on the basis of before mentioned laws and legislation in the field of higher education on a level of USC, to make a subtle approach to networking of institutions and compliance regulations in the area of quality assurance as one of the preconditions for membership of B&H in the EU.
Communication between the Agency and the University of Bihać graded by the representatives of this state institution is very affirmative.
