Public Institution University of Bihać was registered with the status of legal entity Public Institution “University of Bihać” entered the Court register by the formal decision of the Municipal Court in Bihać (No. :017-0-Reg-10-000007 from January 12, 2010).
By this formal decision, this Higher Education Institution, according to the Law of University of Bihać ( "Official Gazette" USC "no.16/09 from Uctober 16, 2009.), was registered as a Public Institution in the state-owned property with a legal entity that performs its activity as a public service.


It is the legal successor of the University of Bihać, founded on July 28, 1997 by the Decision of USC Assembly (no. 01-1-88/97).
The composition of the University, with full capacity of academic freedom and academic autonomy, establish the organizational units without legal entity and properties to:

- Biotechnical Faculty,
- Faculty of Economics,
- Islamic Pedagogical Faculty,
- Faculty of Pedagogy,
- Faculty of Law,
- Faculty of Technical Engineering and
- College of Nursing Studies
It is important to emphasize that academic freedom and academic autonomy of this Higher Education Institution include the responsibility of the academic community to social community.
