On January 16, 2012, Rector of the University of Bihać, Prof. Refik Šahinović, together with the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Fadil Islamović and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Atif Hodzic visited Turkey Development Agency-TIKA. During the visit, the Rector submitted application for 10 projects.

Starting from the constantly expressed need to improve standards of students of Faculty of Economics, after applying for a certain funds with the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, at the end of last year this Faculty began with the construction of two amphitheaters.                                                                                        

Rector of the University of Bihac, Prof. Refik Šahinović, together with the President of the Student Union, Mr. Selvedin Ćehić visited the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sport of USC. During the meeting, the support for the Student Union in the coming year, as well as the future work of the Student Union was discussed.                                                                                                             

On December 27, 2011 the Rector of the University of Bihać, Prof. Refik Šahinović was in Mostar, where he signed a contract on the use of grant funds from the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Trade. Grant was awarded to the University of Bihać. Rector and the Minister Dr. Sanjin Halimović discussed future cooperation between the University of Bihać and the above mentioned Ministry.
